Google Test Paid Browsing




Tired of seeing all kinds of ads are lying on internet sites? What if users could pay a subscription fee to be able to surf without seeing ads?

That is what is being tested by Google through a program called Contributors. Here, as many as 10 web publishers provide subscription services at a cost of between US $ 1 to 3 dollars per month.

By paying the fee, visitors will not be seeing more ads on the page in question, but notes of thanks which replaces Google Ads advertising slots. Sites that participate in the program Contributors include photosharing service Imgur, technology news site Mashable, and slang dictionary Urban Dictionary. Interested users can ask yourself on the waiting list.

Google's experiment is interesting, given that most of its revenue comes from advertising, as well as the social network Facebook. Advertising also became the foundation of free services available on the internet.

The mechanism for the results between Google and the site manager is not explained, but the company insists that the amount given to the publisher at the rate of ad slots on their sites so that the income is not affected.
