Sony flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z2 features a water resistant with IP58 rating. That is, the Xperia Z2 is resistant to fresh water to a depth of 1.5 meters in a time of up to 30 minutes.
However, it seems the Xperia Z2 has a resistance which turned out longer than the rating of the Sony claimed.
More recently, the site of the Swedish Press reported that the gadget Xperia Z2 belongs to Alexander Maxen still function normally after falling to the seabed at a depth of 10 meters, for six weeks.
According to Android Authority (11/08/2014), Maxen, who was on holiday with his friends, accidentally dropped his smartphone into the sea which it approximately 10 meters.
Maxen could not take his smartphone that has splashed into the sea. However, according to his testimony, he still can call it that his device has been dropped in the sea, when he got on the mainland.
Six months after the incident, a friend of her diving equipment Maxen to plunge into the sea and managed to find his Xperia Z2.
Unexpectedly, after sinking for six weeks at a depth of 10 meters, the Xperia Z2 it still serves to make phone calls and so on, although physical damage and power the battery has run out.
However, Android Authority mention that not all sold Sony Xperia Z2 can last as long as it is under water.
Lessons to be learned, do not be too quick to despair if you Z2 Xperia devices fall into the seabed. However, do not expect the device also can be durable as yours Maxen.
