After 30 Years, Finally Lenovo Being No. 1 in the World

Lenovo has announced the achievement of the number one position in the global market, according to IDC.
It happened in the second quarter of 2013, from July to September, with a global market share of 20 percent. The position was never achieved in the first quarter of 2014 with a figure of 16.7 percent.
Lenovo has existed since 1984 with the name of the Legend. The company was founded in Beijing by Liu Chuanzi with 10 engineers and capital 200,000 Yuan.
Lenovo word itself comes from the word "Le" is taken from the word Legend, and "novo" which means "new" in Latin and Chinese means "creativity".
But its PC division, arrived in 1994. Then it's own new Lenovo name used officially as the name of the company in 2004.
Of course, the achievement of Lenovo's PC division could not be separated from the acquisition of IBM's PC division in 2005. In 2014, Lenovo also completed the acquisition of its division of IBM x86 servers. In addition, Lenovo is in the process of acquisition of smartphone maker Motorola.
Lenovo's market share in the consumer segment, reaching 21.6 percent. This represents an increase of 8.2 points from last year and 5.5 points from the previous quarter.
For Small Medium Business SMB segment, Lenovo has a market share of 19.8 percent. In the SMB segment, Lenovo for 7 consecutive quarters in the number 1 position.
In the enterprise business segment, after acquiring IBM x86, Lenovo became the company server 3 in the world.
